Teachers in the Northern Division were reminded to lift their game and deliver an inclusive education system that matched international standards.

The message was relayed during the a one-day workshop at Kshatriya hall in Labasa last Saturday.

Divisional Educational Officer Sumiran Pratap said these standards would help equip our students in any field of work in our country.

“Teachers play a pivotal role in the efficient functioning of their individual schools in a shared partnership with the Ministry of Education,” Mr Pratap said.

“Strong leadership is essential in order for school reforms to be effective and sustained.”

He said this was the message from Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Mahendra Reddy, to the heads of schools in Vanua Levu.

More than 200 teachers attended the workshop. Meanwhile, the ministry will be organising a regional conference on school management next month.

Mr Reddy said the conference in the four main divisions and this is to help assist and educate school management on the use of grants.
