A hospital doctor in the centre of a love triangle involving a politician and his wife is apparently a bit of a character. She has a history of attracting married men.

The list she has been alleged linked with is a WHO’s WHO in the local community. The politician who has fallen for her is the latest.

What started as an innocuous inquiry about the state of the hospital and its needs developed into something more than the politician could handle. He should learn a few lessons.

Lesson 1: Follow the proper channel.

Lesson 2: Never be swayed by beauty alone.

Lesson 3: A public figure is under scrutiny 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Lesson 4: A real man will not cheat on his wife.

Crazy season

This must be the season for it. The politician’s colleague is also caught up in an extra-marital affair.

The only difference is that he seems to be getting away with it. Or is it that the poor wife has not found out yet. He has resumed his relationship with an old flame and he does it without any reservation.

These relationships in the same political camp are causing great discomfort among members. Some members are already hanging their heads in shame about the blatant disregard and violation of strong religious values and ethics that the group espouses.

Sexual escapades by politicians have usually been regarded as a personal matter. They should not enter the political realm as long as they do not negatively affect their performance.

But some are beginning to have a re-think and the issue is likely to be raised at the next political party meeting. They believe that public officers live and die on their personal profiles.

Given the religious nature of party grassroot supporters, they are also worried about the wider implications on party support.
