Rowie Lal, an aspiring artist, hopes to take her art of collage to a different level and tap into the tourism and export market.

Ms Lal developed her passion for collaging at the age of 16 where she develops collage board.

“My first collage was my life goal board. Years later after many collaging experience, I discovered my rare talent of making my own visions,” she said.

With the help of personal development books this was the go for that drove the artist within her.

She laughed and said: “As Picasso once said:  “Everything you can imagine is real” – and that’s been my motto ever since.”

Ms Lal’s work was given due recognition during the Hilton Art Exhibition this week where she was awarded the People’s Choice award.

Ms Lal said she wanted to create and art was in her blood and she just had to tap into it.

She said: “It was my first Art Exhibition and I was very, very excited and grateful.

“I saw how people were very moved by my art pieces and that bought a tear to my eye, I would say that it made me happy. I was very happy.”

“It really moved me. It was the first and the only thing I ever loved doing and never had doubts about whether it would work or not.”
