So let’s not blame some people who start looking at the dots and seeing if any of them could connect.

Former Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) government minister Adi Asenaca Caucau has never been known for the common sense of her views. Now she is trying to claim from her home in the USA that arresting those accused of sedition is a violation of their human rights.

The ex-minister is infamous for her racial remarks against the Indo-Fijian community. She is most certainly not famous for any positive contribution as a Minister during her stint in Parliament.

Suffice to say Adi Asenaca and her likes have now been away from Fiji for too long to realise people here now are much better off and happier than in her time. But it is more worrying to note that just recently Adi Asenaca was at the airport in the USA warmly welcoming and picking up the Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, who was there for a series of meetings.

Ratu Naiqama, it should be noted, is president of SODELPA, the successor to the ousted SDL.

Adi Asenaca obviously maintains her SDL affinity with its successor SODELPA,

It is also worrying to note that a certain SODELPA supporter Loruama Tawawili was all over Facebook saying that SODELPA members will be heading to the West to meet with those arrested on sedition-related charges.

Meanwhile, no one from SODELPA has spoken out against the events which have led to the allegations of sedition.

Not Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa. Not SODELPA President Ratu Naiqama, who by the way is proving very hard to get for comment right now.

There are some comments which could easily be made even if the matter is before the courts.

Let’s be clear here too. No one here is suggesting even the remotest link between Ro Teimumu, Ratu Naiqama and the recent events. Why would they be involved?

But why the silence? Why the lack of leadership?

No one can blame people if – in the absence of this – they start speculating if any dots connect.
