A three-year-old Labasa girl, who was a victim of the ill-fated Tuatua, Labasa fire last month, is now recovering well at the Suva Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital.

This was confirmed by Ashika Ali’s father Rahmat Ali yesterday.

“Ashika has been transferred from Intensive Care Unit to the recovery ward,” Mr Ali said.

The 35-year-old father said Ashika was now able to talk and eat and would soon return to Labasa.

“I am really thankful to the doctors who have tried their level best to help my daughter recover faster,” he said.

Mr Ali had lost his son Shaiz Ali, 4, and

Mother-in-law Aisma Bi, 48, died in the same fire last month.

Ashika had been in a very critical condition after the fire and was immediately transferred to the CWM Hospital in Suva.
