She has been spotted driving an official credit union vehicle. But the lady is neither an employee nor an official. So who is she? The unionist who is officially entitled to drive this nice vehicle might have the answer.

Union members who pay for the vehicle’s maintenance are wanting answers.

Land saga

A tenant has told landowners inquiring about land he is leasing that any information must come from the bosses of a big land agency.

He has been paying land rent at the same rate since the transition from colony to independence in 1970.

How the tenant got nominal rate for a big piece of land is a mystery.

Under changes brought in by the FijiFirst Government recently, leases like this will be reviewed and their rent readjusted to be in harmony with current market rates. And that should be good news for landowners.

Where is it?

Those tasked by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama to give ex-Police officers their outstanding back pay from 2004  have apparently hit a major hurdle. And it’s causing the delay.

The problem is finding the money to make the payment.

Where is the money that the FijiFirst Government gave for the back pay? It may have gone in the wrong direction because the Police made some payments to some serving officers and those retired. Some of the payments were for lodging/accommodation allowance. If this was a mistake, can the money be retrieved and redirected to the right people?

PM Bainimarama would expect an explanation for the cause of the delay when he returns from the Rugby World Cup after the weekend.
