Vodafone Fiji’s chief financial officer Divik Deo says they are delighted to support the Sigatoka Town Council in the revival of the Coral Coast Carnival.

“This is to bring the spirit of celebration back to the people of Nadroga,” he said.

Mr Deo said this during the official opening of the Vodafone Coral Coast Carnival in Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka last Saturday.

He said many people had anxiously waited for the festival for more than six years.

“Our sponsorship reflects our commitment and a strong bond with the vanua and the people of Nadroga,” he said.

“We wish to partner long-term and in a sustainable manner. We value and reward loyalty to the Vodafone brand and hope that our rekindled relationship will grow from strength to strength for a long-term partnership.”

He said the carnival would support the good cause of charitable works in developing the Sigatoka municipality as Sigatoka thrived in the tourism industry

“We are hopeful that this annual event will be developed into a major tourist attraction with the support of the hotel and tourism industry,” he said.

“Next year we will have this carnival again and it’s going to be an annual event and we will have it on June 1, 2016 to coincide with the 80-year anniversay of Sigatoka Town.”
