The art of visual story-making is using your unique skills to create condense powerful imagery said a veteran journalist.

These comments was made by veteran journalist Andrew Tkach at a University of the South Pacific (USP) press conference yesterday.

Mr Tkach said he was working with USP  broadcast journalism students on creating short documentaries as part of their assessment.

“We have a four weeks workshop whereby students are required to produce their own television magazine piece ,’’ he said.

USP Broadcasting student Carolyn Kitione  said that she has learned the fundamental of documentary concepts and the elements to consider when producing a piece for television news.

“ I think the class is going to able to pull of some great storytelling for TV and I’am definitely looking forward to learning more from him,’’ said Ms Kitione.

USP head of journalism studies Shailendra Singh said some of Andrews’ documentaries like  ‘global warming eminent problems that the world in facing.

The USP journalism department will be screening a series of award wining documentary films and reports produced by Andrew Tkach tomorrow.
