With the application drive for the 2015 Westpac Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards now open, it is expected to gain momentum as the closing date draws near.

Exporters have until October 15 to send in their applications for one of the biggest awards events of the country.

Entering the 2015 Westpac Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards is free and the application form can be downloaded at the dedicated awards website www.eya.org.fj

The website provides further details on the awards and each category.

Applicants only need to complete the form once to be nominated across all categories.

The awards will be held on Saturday, November 7 at the Sheraton Convention Centre Denarau, Nadi. The awards have been an annual event for the past 22 years since they first began in 1993.

Investment Fiji chief executive, Godo Müller-Teut said this is the occasion where we acknowledge the important contribution Fijian exporters are making to our nation’s economy.

“As CEO of Investment Fiji, a key part of my job is promoting Brand Fiji to the world,” he said.

“And there is no better way than through the real achievements of our exporters.

“We need to take time to celebrate success, to acknowledge entrepreneurship and honour our stars of industry.”

New award

The newly-launched Youth Entrepreneur Award recognises the contribution made by young enterprises to the local economy.

It is the only category in which the applicant does not need to be an exporter. The applicant for this award must be between the ages of 15 to 35 years.
