Members of the public were part of the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji’s  Annual Blu Day celebration on Denarau Island, Nadi, yesterday.

Resort general manager Gerard Knight said the celebration marked five years of operating within the Asia Pacific region.

“It was a huge day for the resort, the staff, guests and the community to see how Blu affected everyone’s life,” Mr Knight said.

“A day of fun and lots of laughter as we celebrate with the community. Blu Day is the company celebration held in late September every year. Around the world we celebrate Blue day.”

Mr Knight said students from their ‘Adopt-a-school Programme’ would be part of the celebration.

“We have invited the schools because we support 24 schools locally and have put in a really good push into putting new library in schools. We have invited eight of the schools. Normally we take our guests to the schools, but this time we have brought the schools to us.

“This year in the Asia Pacific has been special because five years ago we bought this brand to Asia Pacific, so that means this property turned Blu since then.

“It is a little bit special as well because it is among the 1100 hotels we have worldwide and about 200 in the Asia Pacific region,” he said.
