Corrections Officers In Court

Two Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) officers have been charged for allegedly raping a workmate last Tuesday.
It is alleged that newly recruited officers, Meli Sebua and Nasoni Raburau committed the offence outside the Suva Corrections Centre.
They appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court last Friday where Police Prosecutor Dharmendra Kumar objected to bail.
He made the application for the matter to be transferred to the High Court in Suva.
The defence laywer requested for the two be remanded in Police custody claiming for their safety if they were remanded at the Suva Corrections Centre.
Mr Kumar informed the court that the investigation was completed and they could not be remanded in Police custody.
They are remanded at the Suva Corrections Centre and their case would be called at the High Court in Suva on Friday.
