The trial of Mosese Bulitavu and Jagath Karunaratne has been adjourned to the end of this month.

Bulitavu and Karunaratne are charged with writing seditious comments at various places within Suva in 2011.

The trial was adjourned because a state witness had called in sick.

The lawyer from the Office of the Director of public Prosecutions (ODPP), Lisiate Fotofili, told Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili yesterday that the State witness had provided a medical certificate and sought for an adjournment of the case next week.

However, defence lawyers Aman Ravindra Singh and Barbara Malimali said they were occupied with other hearings and trials next week but were free at the end of the month.

The trial will continue from October 26 to 30.

Meanwhile, three other people who were charged in the same case and earlier dismissed have been granted immunity to appear as State witnesses.

Waisale Daganayasi, Usaia Koroi and Eroni Takape have had their charges withdrawn.
