The Fijian soldier, who was injured in Sinai, Private Kiniviliame Cabemailau, was now back at  his base.

This was confirmed yesterday by Republic of Fiji Military Forces Land Force Commander Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho.

Private Cabemailau was discharged from the Israeli hospital yesterday morning after undergoing surgery to remove a bullet from his body and had been under observation for more than two weeks.

He was on duty when their camp received indirect fire in the form of mortars and small arms impacting the vicinity of the camp.

Private Cabemailau was the third Fijian soldier injured earlier last month when clashes escalated between the Egyptian military and rebels affiliated to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group.
