Alleged Shoplifters Caught On Camera

Police are working on arresting a man and a woman who were caught on camera while allegedly stealing at the New Run International Limited Supermarket in Raiwaqa, Suva.

The alleged incident which happened last Saturday morning was recorded in the supermarket’s security cameras.

They recorded the pair removing and concealing eight tins of S26 Baby Milk Powder and two bottles of Ovaltine. The supermarket said the items were worth $322.95.

Security camera footage captured the two entering the shop separately.

The woman was first captured removing three milk tins from the shelf and hiding them between her legs over her big skirt while the man was seen packing three tins into his bag.

They left the shop separately and returned four minutes later to take the remaining items.

Police are conducting an investigation and the suspects have been identified.

A report of an alleged theft in July in the supermarket was reported to Police and a suspect has been charged and is now in custody.
