The Australia-Pacific Technical College’s (APTC) campus has introduced two disability courses in its  programme here.

Certificate IV Disability and Certificate III in Individual Support are aimed to provide those who wish to choose caregiving to the physically disadvantaged.

The technical institution which also has campuses in Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Samoa, will begin classes from this week.

Student support

Jonathon Todd, APTC Fiji country manager, said: “We build a sense of excitement and pride in the students for making it to where they are today.

“The support students receive from trainers and tutors, learning support facilitators, works skills facilitator, and student services and welfare officers aims to ensure students will achieve their very best from the beginning of their training.”

In addition to the vocational training provided this year, APTC staff members are focused on ensuring consistency and currency of training to support career-seeking goals of students.

Also it aims to increase work placement opportunities for students.

Orientation was held on January 18-19 across the APTC in the region.
