This was confirmed yesterday by South East Zone public relations officer Elemaca Ravulo.

“We’ve changed this year’s format by combining the Suva, Nasinu and Nausori schools,” he said.

“QVS and Lelean are going to be part of this zone and competition starts this Saturday.”

Ravulo said they were negotiating with Deans Trophy champions Ratu Kadavulevu School to join the competition as well.

“We are sending out invitation to the Southern giants Suva Grammar School and Marist Brothers High School to confirm their participation.”

He indicated that so far in the zone- six schools have confirmed their participation in the Under-15 and U17 grades while seven schools are playing in the U19 competition.

Ravulo added that registration is still open for schools and urged teachers if they could see this competition as an opportunity for their students to make a career out it.

Former Nasinu Secondary School student  is Marika Koroibete is now one of the stars of NRL while Lautoka Central College lock Tikiko Noke is now playing in the Queensland Cup competition.

“The registration closes on Wednesday and schools interested to contact the FNRL office.
