The Kontiki Growth Fund (KGF) has appointed the Deputy Chairman, Professor Erik Larson to serve as the Acting Chairman following the resignation of Daryl Tarte.

Mr Tarte had been the Chairman for seven years.

Commenting on the resignation, KGF director and Chairman of the Manager (Kontiki Capital Ltd), Jack Lowenstein, said: “Mr Tarte always looked after the interests of KGF’s shareholders and worked closely with the Manager to help KGF achieve its objectives.

“We thank Mr Tarte for his guidance during the most recent revitalization phase of KGF”.

In tendering his resignation, Mr. Tarte said: “I thank the shareholders of KGF for entrusting me to serve as a director of KGF for the past few years.

“I continue to hold shares in KGF because I believe that it is well-positioned to benefit from the future growth of Fiji’s economy and economic activity in the region.

“However, I would like to scale back my involvement on boards and committees and feel that this is the right time to step down.”

The KGF board and management expressed their sincere appreciation to Mr. Tarte for his leadership, counsel and contribution to the Company during his stint on the Board and wished him the best in his future endeavours.

The board will operate with four directors until further notice.
