Fans can expect free flowing rugby and better execution from the Telecom Fijiana in the Women’s Sevens Series in Langford, Canada tomorrow.

The Fijiana side did not get the result they were hoping for in Atlanta last weekend but Fiji Rugby Women’s coaching director Chris Cracknell said with their hard work over the last few days things could change.

“After the week of learning and rebuilding, fans can expect to see the same flowing running rugby, that isn’t broke,” Cracknell said.

“We just lacked the execution last week, the girls know what is expected of them and we’ve put clear markers out for this weekend.”

Only winning one game against Colombia in Atlanta, Cracknell says, there was a lot that could be learnt which they have worked on being in a new environment and aiming to get a bit of confidence back in the girls.

“The beginning part of the week we reviewed last weekend and put it to bed, then turned our attention to what we can learn from it. Obviously after the weekend they weren’t on a high, but we’ve had a good weeks of training and have taken a step forward after learning from Atlanta.

“The girls have enjoyed being in Victoria and with everything in close proximity of the hotel they have been able to get out and explore the city as well apart from training.”

Facing a tough Pool B, the Fijiana side take on New Zealand, USA and Spain and would have a lot of work cut out for them.

“All three teams have their own style of play and New Zealand and USA are both proven world beaters. Spain have been improving all year and will prove a stern test,” Cracknell said.
