Qiliho Meets Vanuatu Counterpart
Brigadier General Qiliho leads the Fiji delegation at discussions

Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho is currently on a tour of Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) countries.

He first stopped over in Port Vila, Vanuatu yesterday where he met his Vanuatu counterpart Acting Police Commissioner Robson Iavro.

Brigadier-General Qiliho was accorded a guard of honour upon arrival at the Port Vanuatu Police Headquarters prior to the meeting which he used to formally meet his counterpart.

The meeting discussed various bilateral issues which both the Fijian and Vanuatu Police could benefit from and build on existing relations that the two forces were already engaged in.

The Fiji Police Force had been assisting Vanuatu Police with the provision of a pathologist to assist in investigations.

Brigadier-Qiliho also held discussions with the Vanuatu Minister for Internal Affairs Alfred Maoh, who holds a Police portfolio as well.

He also met with deputy director general of the MSG where he also held discussions on MSG initiatives agreed to at the Leaders’ Summit.

Brigadier General Qiliho is accompanied by Police director international relations Ulaiasi Ravula, Joji Washington from the Ministry of Defence and Vilikesa Naivalucava from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation will also be visiting Honiara and Port Moresby before returning back to Fiji.
