Rehearsals For Grand Night Begin
Finalists in this year’s Miss World Fiji pageant began rehearsing for the final production which will be held on May 7.
The crowning event, which will be hosted at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, will be a one and half hour spectacle of fashion and beauty.
Pageant national director Andhy Blake said this year’s crowning would be produced with a different format which would be a first for Fiji.
“The crowning of our new Miss World Fiji will have a twist and this has never been featured before during any pageant production in Fiji” Mr Blake said.
The Miss World Fiji contest will also feature the winning talent that will be privately judged on May 5.
Finalists will be judged on top model, talent and interview taking into consideration their star quality to stand out on the international stage with the chance of winning the 66th Miss World crown.
“Talent is new for the contest this year and during our castings, we met some talented ladies that are trained dancers and singers. The talent segment at the international finals is very popular and we are hoping to find a world-class performer,” Mr Blake said.
Miss World Fiji 2016 will be crowned on May 7 at The Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva and will represent Fiji at the 66th Miss World contest later in the year.
The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation is officially managing and producing Miss World Fiji while the Grand Pacific Hotel is the official host partner, Fiji Airways is the official airline partner and the Fiji Sun is the official print media partner.
