Building up our national employment centre will be one of the challenges for Salaseini Daunabuna.

The new Permanent Secretary for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations said this was important “with the partnership we have with New Zealand and Australia.”

Ms Daunabuna is pleased with her appointment and feels this will be a different field for her in comparison to the work she had been doing for the past 10 years at the Attorney-General’s Office.

“I am willing to contribute to the ministry and implement things that will help build employment capacity,” Ms Daunabuna said.

She has spent 10 years working on employment related issues and has also served as the Government Advisor to the ILO Governing Bodies and Conferences. Her working area required her to provide legal advice and practice as a lawyer with litigation work.

“The challenges I will face are building up our national employment centre with the partnership we have with New Zealand and Australia,” Ms Daunabuna said.
