Twenty-three-year-old Nanise Raboiliku will carry the pride of Kadavu when she competes for the title of Miss World Fiji next month.

The dusky beauty from Drauvuwalu village in the district of Naceva in Kadavu is one of the 10 finalists competing for Fiji’s most coveted beauty title.

She graduated from the Fiji National University with a diploma in Industrial Laboratory before transferring to the University of the South Pacific to complete her Bachelor of Science, majoring in Chemistry and Biology.

“To me, Beauty with a Purpose means a woman who is not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside including having a big heart. To help others that are less fortunate is true definition of the Miss World motto,” she said.

The former Saint Joseph’s secondary school student lists her hobbies as cooking and baking pineapple pies, snorkelling and playing sports such as netball.

“An interesting fact about me is that I have an identical twin sister. We are always mistaken for each other. I also like to greet every animal I come across,” she said.

Ms Raboiliku lists singing as her talent and will hope to wow the judges when she serenades them during the private judging on May 5.

Miss World Fiji 2016 will be crowned on May 7 at The Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva and will represent Fiji at the 66th Miss World contest later in the year.

The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation is officially managing and producing Miss World Fiji, while The Grand Pacific Hotel is the official host partner, Fiji Airways is the official airline partner and The Fiji Sun is the official print media partner.
