Tour Managers Fiji has once again demonstrated its commitment to growing our tourism industry with the launch of the latest Fiji Travel guide for the Chinese market.

The 220-page book was launched on Monday night at the Corner Café in Nadi by Tour Managers in partnership with Global Travel of Beijing, China.

The issue took six months to compile costing over $150,000.

Tourism Fiji chairman and Fiji Airways managing director/CEO, Andre Viljoen, said this initiative will compliment Tourism Fiji’s online marketing this year with tangible connection to targeted audience.

“This is as important for the country as Chinese market is a very important one with tourism and Fiji Airways as well,” he said.

Mr Viljoen noted the book would help the Chinese tourists coming into Fiji.

It covers a detailed history of Fiji, the geography and the how to get around, accommodations, and all the different options and attractions around Fiji.

Tour Managers director Damend Gounder said the book it is a compilation of areas that is popular among our tourists and is written in the Chinese language.

He added the process of putting this guide together was very extensive.

“We have involved a lot of our own people and got the copies verified in Beijing. We are grateful for their support in making this reality for team Fiji,” he said.

Mobile apps

At least 30,000 copies of the Travel Guide is available all the travel wholesalers in China and also available for the consumers.

Mr Gounder announced the second stage is to introduce an app for both Androids and Apple devices.

He said the app would take another four to six weeks as they are going through the approval process with Apple.

“Once that is put in place, we will load that up and that will take this Travel Guide to a bigger audience in terms of Chinese people,” he said.
