As we countdown to the start of Rio Olympic Games, things have started to work out for the Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens team.

This was part and parcel of the plan being put together by head coach Ben Ryan as their week-long training in Santiago, Chile is intended for them to ‘sharpen their tools’ and tie up a few loose ends before participating in the world’s biggest sporting spectacle.

The players have begun to feel the massive weight of expectation of winning the country’s first Olympic gold medal. As true warriors, the players rose to the challenge.

Yesterday, leading the charge was captain, Osea Kolinisau who was the first man out of his hotel room, 30 minutes before the bus departed to the training ground. This set the pace for the day as the players hit the right tempo during training and they worked on their communication and combinations which was breathtaking to watch. Playing it down, Ryan says, this was because the players had finally adapted to the new time zone.
