Team Fiji’s youngest team member Sally Yee believes one of her major challenges is to overcome her nervousness.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, the 15-year-old table tennis star said this is one of her major challenges as they are a day away from the opening of the 2016 Olympic Games.

Yee who is one of the first timers to the Olympic atmosphere says,, she is trying hard to overcome the challenge she is going through.

“There is a lot of pressure around, now that I’m here and looking at all these facilities and atmosphere,” she said.

The Jai Narayan College student qualified on merit for the Rio Olympics following her impressive performance at the International Table Tennis Federation- Oceania Olympic Games qualification tournament in Bendigo in Melbourne, Australia in March.

Yee qualified after beating her younger sister Grace in the decisive qualifying match and joined Australian duo Melissa Tapper and Jian Fang Lay as Oceania’s table tennis qualifiers for the Olympic Games.

“I’m really enjoying Rio. Everything is huge and even coming across some of the countries I haven’t heard in my life is such an amazing experience.

“The facilities here are really good and services provided at the Olympic village are just so nice,” she added.
