The Nadogo football team bounced back from their earlier loss to Taveuni to wallop Seaqaqa 4-0 in the Vodafone Senior League clash at Subrail Park, Labasa yesterday.

What happened: In the 10th minute Nadogo striker Apolosio Matakibau netted their first goal. Their lead was extended in the 40th minute through a Semi Qamese drive as they led 2-0 at halftime.

In the 60th minute Ratu Sepesa sped past the Seaqaqa defence to slam in their third goal. Then Matakibau sealed their win by scoring his second goal as they settled 4-0 at fulltime.

Comments

Nadogo coach and secretary, Nalvindra Pratap said a change in game plan after their loss to Taveuni enabled them to hit back.

“I’m happy with the players’ performance. Although we did not win the league, we are happy that we managed to give our best on the field. However, we will return next year with a big bang.”

Seaqaqa team manager Nilesh Chand said their loss was due to lack of fitness.

“The players were able to train for five days for this match. We are not able to get a training venue because of numerous training programmes going on in Seaqaqa.”
