Minister Reddy: Ensure Peace, Stability
Civil servants were today reminded of the Fijian Government’s vision of ensuring a peaceful, stable and a prosperous future for Fiji.
This was the statement made by the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Honourable Mahendra Reddy during the opening of the Ministry’s planning workshop in Lami.
Minister Reddy told officials that effective planning required prioritising and sound decision making in order to achieve outcomes.
“The Fijian Government has a vision for the country and there are different institutions in the country; formal and informal institutions. All of them need to converge on Government’s vision. We need to tease out what is government’s vision, mission and the strategies leading on to achieve a particular outcome,” Minister Reddy said.
He said there was huge potential for the Ministry as a whole to contribute towards Fiji’s overall growth and development.
“We have a challenging task ahead in terms of listing down what our priorities are and which ones the ministry can deliver. We have started on the right platform but we have room for improvement so that no one is left behind,” he said.
Minister Reddy highlighted that the Education Ministry played a vital role in ensuring a productive workforce because it was linked to different ministries and sectors of the economy.
