Tanoa Group Salon Culinaire Competition kicks off on Friday
The Tanoa Group of Hotels will be staging its 9th annual Internal Salon Culinaire competition in Nadi starting on Friday.
Group Training and Development manager, Jeanette Mario said the event is dubbed as the Tanoa Hotel Group’s premiere culinary event celebrating the ninth years of culinary experience and excellence.
This is a gastronomic odyssey for their chefs from Tanoa properties in the country.
Ms Mario said: “These competitions are generally used to engage staff with a particular product or group of products.”
“It is an opportunity to receive recognition for culinary skills and gain valuable feedback from our prestigious panel of judges,” she said.
“The essence of the competition is to demonstrate skill, creativity in cooking and knowledge of produce.”
Ms Mario added the staff is also looking forward to these events which bring the best in their line of work in the Tanoa Way.
Properties involved are Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi, Tanoa Plaza Hotel-Suva, Tanoa Skylodge Hotel-Nadi, Tanoa Waterfront Hotel-Lautoka and Tanoa Hotel in Rakiraki.
The live competition involves cake decoration, pasta, breakfast, vegetarian, seafood, curry, kokoda, and soup making.
The two day event will be hosted at the Tanoa Skylodge Hotel in Nadi from September 23-24.
The awards presentation will be held on Saturday at 2.30pm.
