Woman Scratches To Win $30K
Ms Ledua said she used to spend $3 to $4 on scratch cards daily ever since her grandson was one.
Her grandson who is now seven shared her joy yesterday.
“I started my business with just $60 and it is running for more than 20 years. It has never been easy because sometimes I don’t have any sales in a day, but I never give up,” she said.
Ms Ledua is a solo mother staying with her daughter and grandson at Newtown for the past seven years.
“On Monday, I went with Tevita, my grandson to MHCC with just a dollar in my hand to scratch one ticket.
“But unfortunately, I missed. My grandson saw a $2 coin in my pocket which I was unaware of and he bought another ticket and that was our lucky moment,” Ms Ledua said.
She is still thinking of what to do with her money and she said she will invest it in her business at the market and canteen at home.
“Despite the win, I will still continue with my small business because this is where I started from and it has brought me this far,” she said.
Ms Ledua will be collecting her $30,000 cheque at MHCC tomorrow.
