Compassion To Service Delivery Vital: Vuniwaqa
There is still room for improvement to take the ministry to another level, says Veena Bhatnagar
Bringing compassion to service delivery is paramount, says new Minister for Women Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa.
“If there is no compassion you can’t deliver the service that is required,” said Ms Vuniwaqa.
Ms Vuniwaqa made the statement on a briefing session with the division managers of the ministry from around Fiji at Studio Six Apartments in Suva yesterday.
Ms Vuniwaqa said the presentation session by the division managers yesterday gave her an insight to see the operational size and challenges highlighted and saw how they could deliver those services.
“Transition to a new role is always challenging for me but it’s a welcoming challenge,” she said.
Same sentiments were echoed by new Assistant Minister, Veena Bhatnagar, who said if you have passion for what you do, you can do anything.
Ms Bhatnagar applauded the work the ministry was doing under the leadership of the former Minister, Rosy Akbar.
According to Ms Bhatnagar there is room for improvement to take the ministry to another level.
Ms Vuniwaqa and Ms Bhatnagar know that the core work will be based on service delivery and by furthering development policies for the ministry in their new roles.
Yesterday’s briefing was to allow the ministers to get a brief background on the different levels of their new ministry.
