What happened?

The ‘Delta Tigers’ Rewa had difficulty controlling the ball and missed a lot of chances.

Rewa tried  hard to equalise but luck did not seem to be on their side as the first half ended in Suva’s favour.

Halftime: Rewa 0-1 Suva

Rewa got their second wind back as they controlled the first quarter of the second spell which paid off with a header from Epeli Saukuru in the 52nd minute to equalise, 1-1.

Attempt at goal by Rewa’s Tevita Waranaivalu to give the team the lead fell short.

In the 80th minute, Tamanisau sealed the win.

Beautiful goal from Suva coach/player Pita Rabo.

Star Turn

Epeli Saukuru’s header was the game changer which gave Rewa a fighting chance.

Rewa coach Marika Rodu: “We are a bit disappointed that we let Suva score in the first half but we came back in the second half to win and that is what matters. We played an attack style of football in the second half and the boys knew that we needed a win and they stepped up.”

Suva coach and player Pita Rabo: “We decided to give some players who have been on the bench a chance and it turned out good.”
