Warden Suva managed to return home with $10,000 after beating Police Blues Suva 19-14 in the Christian Mission Fellowship International Macuata Region Sevens (Tier One) at Subrail Park, Labasa last night.

Wardens Suva coach Sailosi Naiteqe Jnr said he was happy with the performance of this players and thanked Vodafone Fijian 7s playmaker Kitione Taliga for his great influence.

“Taliga has been a good role model as has been encouraging our young players,” Naiteqe said.

“Coming from Suva and winning from one of the best teams is a proud moment. I can say there were lots of opportunities that have opened up for our players.”

Taliga told SUNsports that he was happy to be part of a good team.”

“I saw my participation in the team as a way to prepare myself before joining the national sevens camp next week. I’m happy to be here as I got the chance to meet my fans that have gathered at the park and those that still remember our Olympic gold medal win in Rio.”

Police Blues manager Tomasi Seviua thanked the organisers for creating greater participation.

“We are blessed to participate and surely we will return next year,” Seviua said. The Tier Two was won by Wailevu Black after they beat Red Diamond 7-0 in the final.
