Ali Gets Inspired By Fast And Furious In Fast Cars
Mohammed Altaf Ali of Lautoka got inspired by fast cars when he was a kid watching the Fast and Furious movie series and after reading magazines on cars.
It was then he decided he would own a sports car when he grew up. And buy a sports car he did.
Mr Ali’s first car was a Mitsubishi Evolution IV. After that he got up into a family car which was also in sports version.
Mr Ali said later on, he met Team Modified Rides Fiji who pulled his attention into serious sports cars.
“That’s when i decided to buy a 1994 Toyota MR2 3SGTE,” he said.
What makes the car special/unique?
Mr Ali said it’s a coup with mid-engine and rear wheel drive and there are very few vehicles like this in Fiji.
Mr Ali said he has spent around $5000 modifying his vehicle and thanked members of Modified Rides Fiji for helping in upgrading his car.
“Special thanks goes to Kavin Reddy and Kanesh Reddy for all the hard work they did for me,” he said.
Upgrades done on his vehicle includes 3SGTE generation 3 engine with upgraded turbo gen 4 to enhance power for fast acceleration.
It also has ECU Blitz racing computer board, boost controller and BC GOLD Adjustable shocks.
Mr Ali said a few parts were locally available for the upgrades but they had to bring other parts from abroad.
He participated in the past drags and did 14 seconds but is planning to do 13 seconds in the next drag race.
