Archari Fulfils Dream
Vehl Archari turned down the headboy post because he was focused on being the school Dux
Vehl, 13, achieved his goal when he was presented the Dux award for Namaka Public School during the prizegiving in Nadi on Wednesday
“I heard my name was nominated for head boy but I told my dad that I wish not to be involved in that task as I have responsibility to be the dux of the school,” he said.
“Lucky it did went well with my father who is my role model and I dedicate this award to my dad and mom as well since they are both teachers.”
He scored the highest in basic science, social science, scooped the excellence maths award 2015, prize certificate maths 2016, and scored the highest mark FY8E 2016.
The Year eight student is the son of former Fiji Football Association referee, Andrew Archari, who happens to be his own teacher in school.
Mr Archari said: “Proud of you son. Keep it up and lead by example. I am not surprised since the beginning of this year he said that he is aiming for the dux prize.”
Interestingly Vehl made first choice to RKS and QVS, but his father asked him to attend SSKMC in Nadi, which is just a stone throw away from their home.
“He is my only son of three siblings and hope that he excels in his career by my side,” Mr Archari said.
