Body Show A Hit In Suva
Bodybuilding has tremendous potential in Fiji if given proper guidance and planning, says Albert Veeran.
And the Lautoka businessman wants to give back to the sport which has been very much part of his life over the years.
He was the event organizer of the 2016 Bodyworks Championship which was held at the Fiji Arts Club in Suva last Saturday.
“I want to give back to the sport that is the foundation of my success over the years,”Veeran said.
“We have tremendous potential in Fiji and athletes need proper guidance.
“The event over the weekend went really well and I’m happy with the turnout.”
Sixteen athletes took part with seven competing for the overall Mr Bodyworks title, two female athletes competed for the Bodyworks, Miss Figure title and seven competitors tussled for the introductory division – Bodyworks Men Open Physique division.
Veeran said sponsors and athletes were happy with how well the competition was organized.
It was an emotional moment for Suva couple Rishi and Susan Raj when Rishi Raj was name the Bodyworks Extraordinary Athlete of 2016. Rishi also won the Under- 70 kg category and placed second overall to winner Inoke Ligairi who is also the current reigning champion in Fiji and Pacific Games medalist.
