Awards Night On FBC TV
The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) are the official broadcasters for the Fiji Rugby Awards night on December 16 at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay Convention Centre in Lami.
FBC chief executive officer Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said it is a great opportunity for them to bring a prestigious night into the homes of many Fijians around the country.
“We are very pleased to be on board with this particular event because it is in sync with the drive and the belief of FBC in which is to reach out to the public as much as possible,” Sayed-Khaiyum said.
“The whole philosophy of our business is based on reaching out to the community and I am glad that this event is going to be carried out in a similar manner.
“It is a great opportunity to vote and contribute to this wonderful event and we hope that this will carry on for many more years.
“On the night we will be providing coverage and there will also be a delayed broadcast of the night and this will be done post production where we take out all the good bits and show it to the people of Fiji.
“It makes sense because FBC is the only television you can see in areas like Ba, Rakiraki, Tavua, Korovou and Tailevu so I am thankful that the FRU has decided to partner with us.
“If they didn’t then a lot of rugby fans would have missed out on this wonderful event.”
Their radio stations, in particular Bula FM will cover the event to keep the people of Fiji up to date with what is happening.
Fiji Rugby Union chairman Commander Francis Kean welcomed FBC on board and is excited to work with them.
“We want to welcome FBC on board with the family of sponsors as the official television broadcaster and we look forward to working with them in creating a Fiji Rugby Awards night programme that will be remembered.”
FBC TV joins other partners including HFC Bank, Novotel Suva Lami Bay, Vodafone Fiji, Dogfather Sports Bar, Fiji Sun, Viti FM, Legend FM, Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji, FIJI Water and Paradise Beverages.
