Bank Of Baroda Aims For Every Household
Bank of Baroda (Fiji) (BOB) will focus more on inclusive growth from next year.
This means to have a banking account of each and every household.
Fiji operations chief executive, Govindsing Babusing Rajput outlined this during a Christmas cocktail on Wednesday night in Labasa.
“The money coming in the bank is going to the economy as a whole,” he said.
The bank is also encouraging farmers who have not opened a bank account as yet to contact them.
“We have more sugarcane farmers accessing about services and we are targeting more farmers,” Mr Rajput said.
He also reiterated they are going to continue with the existing programmes and products.
“We have invested almost $280 million in the Government bonds and treasury bills.
“There was a bit of disturbance and some setbacks this year due to Tropical Cyclone Winston and some floods in the Western Division,” he said.
“I mean there were some hardware companies that received Government funds and when there is no utilisation there is reduction in our utilisation advance figures,” he added.
The bank has about 90,000 customer base and have eight branches with about 150 staff.
