Nissan, this week announced, the 2016 Maxima, Murano, Rogue and Frontier have been named the top vehicles in their segments in AutoPacific’s 20th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA).

This is after a survey of over 65,000 owners of new 2015 and 2016 cars and light trucks.

It was the second win in a row for the redesigned Murano crossover.

The four wins also tied Nissan as the second most of any manufacturer.

The VSA awards, which are based solely on owner input, measure owner satisfaction with 50 attributes of their vehicle rather than surveying things gone wrong.

“With most vehicles in the market being pretty well screwed together today, satisfaction is a better measure of how the vehicle is delivering on its ownership promise,” said AutoPacific president George Paterson

Maxima, Murano and Rogue have all been completely redesigned within the past three models years and continue to experience record sales.

In calendar year 2016 (through May) Maxima sales are up 146 per cent, Murano sales have increased 46 per cent and Rogue sales are up 6.7 per cent.

This following a 44 per cent increase in 2015.

Sales of Frontier have increased 21 percent in 2016.

“The 2016 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are confirmation of what we’re seeing everyday in Nissan showrooms nationwide,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan chief marketing manager and marketing operations.

“Buyers are responding to the redesigned Maxima, Murano and Rogue’s styling, interior comfort, performance, fuel efficiency and advanced safety and security features.”

“We’re also proud that Frontier, a true workhorse in its class, continues to deliver on and exceed owner expectations year after year.”

About Nissan’s 2016 Vehicle Satisfaction Award Winners

As the flagship of Nissan’s popular sedan lineup, the 2016 Maxima sets the standard for style, performance and technology.

Now in its eighth generation, the 2016 Maxima take the nameplate’s position as the “4-Door Sports Car” to its highest execution ever.

The Nissan Frontier continues to be a leader in the mid-size truck segment, combining premium hardware, extraordinary power and an exceptional level of on- and off-road performance.

Frontier is offered in a choice of two powerplants, both King Cab and Crew Cab body styles and in 4×2 and 4×4 driveline configurations, along with five trim grades.

The all-new 2017 Nissan TITAN full-size pickup has also been named one of three finalists for 2017 North American Truck of the Year (NATOY).

This is an annual award selected by an independent, self-funded jury made up of a group of automotive journalists from across the United States and Canada.
