Sixteen-year-old Emily Norris-Perkins will now represent the South Pacific at the 10th annual World Supermodel Production and International Fashion Week.

The event will be hosted at Macau City in China from May 21 to 28.

Emily won the Miss World Supermodel South Pacific Pageant and best swim wear category during the pageant’s crowning night on Saturday at the Pearl Resort in Pacific Harbour.

Emily was born and raised in the Gold Coast, Australia, and said her win was dedicated to her parents.

“I had a passion for modelling from a very young age and my parents and family have always supported me with my interests.

“I have always been encouraged to do modelling as I have been told by many that I am tall and have a good personality to do modelling.

“I had my family’s support and love always to help me with everything I needed to pursue my passion in modelling,” Emily said.

She said the win came as a surprise to her.

“I just want to sort things out and plan everything in advance to get everything ready before the big pageant in Macau which is at an international platform as well.

“I know I have to do more than what I am capable of to represent the South Pacific,” Emily said.

She said the girls and young women of Fiji should be able to represent their own self first.

“Be confident and don’t let anybody bring you and your self-esteem down because you know what you are and how capable you are if you put your 100 per cent effort to it,” Emily said.

She is leaving for Australia today to catch up with her academic dream and pursue her career as a personal trainer.
