Prime Minister Bainimarama Receives Special Advisor To Ethiopian Prime Minister
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday received the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
In a meeting at his office, Prime Minister Bainimarama said with an established Fiji mission in Addis Ababa, the country was committed to strengthening bilateral relations with Ethiopia.
Prime Minister Bainimarama said Fiji acknowledged the important role Ethiopia played in Africa and internationally as well.
Also discussed at length was the threat of climate change and the vulnerability of Pacific Small Island Developing States.
Dr Ghebreyesus assured Prime Minister Bainimarama of Ethiopia’s support for Fiji’s presidency of the 23rd Session of Conference of Parties (COP 23) in Bonn, Germany this year. Fiji and Ethiopia established diplomatic relations in January, 2011.
