Sleeping on the job
A security officer manning a container yard in Walu Bay got the shock of his life when a stone rammed the side of one of the containers.
Yes, he was snoring away, in obvious view of the general public who were going to the jetty.
A passer-by said out loud ‘sleeping on the job’, before throwing a stone at a container – the poor officer had to wake up from his beauty sleep, much to the amusement of those who witnessed the incident.
The moonlike crater on the hill on Adi Davila Rd, Davuilevu, near Nausori, has been buried. Thanks to those who were responsible.
Seeing red over the green look
The Votualevu roundabout near Nadi International Airport has been nicely planted and the vegetation is growing rapidly. Problem is that it is now to a height where drivers can’t see over it and especially at the Back Road entrance the vision is down to about 25 metres.
The point with roundabouts is that you need to be able to see approaching traffic with lots of time, so you can insert yourself into the flow and this is not possible.
Nice to have efforts to beautify the airport area. Praise for that. But let’s have safety as well as the flower garden.
