Punjas, Narhari Light Up Doctors’ Work At Lautoka
Two of the country’s established companies, Punjas and Narhari Electrical Company Limited, have paved the way for doctors to work with greater ease.
The two companies donated 40 pieces of Panasonic Hands Free LED Neck Light to the Lautoka Hospital on Friday.
The equipment offers light where needed most, is easy to use and suited for any situation.
The light is used by simply placing the unit around your neck, leaving your hands completely free.
The companies said this was perfect for the Clinical Practitioners to make use of while working at the hospital during night shifts.
The hospital’s consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr Jimi Taria, said apart from the light quality, the equipment was hands free, adjustable, light weight and portable.
“By hanging around the neck, it can assist a nurse or doctor do some procedures, administer drugs, etc in a ward at night, without turning on the room lights and disturbing others,” the doctor said.
“When attached around the head, it serves as a good ‘head-lamp’ in times of surgery, gynecological examinations or examining children.
“Traditional head-lamps are a bit bulky and need a carry-bag, whilst this could easily fit in a pocket, or hung around the neck.”
Punjas are distributors for Panasonic batteries, torches and automotive batteries in Fiji.
Narhari Electrical Co Limited is an importer for the Panasonic range.
