The Fiji National Provident Fund is looking to set up its office in its Commercial Retail building at Main Street in Nadi by the end of next year.

The estimated $23 million Retail Development Construction project replaces the Nadi Hotel, located at the corner of Nadi Main Street and Koroivolu Avenue.

It is being developed into a three storey building.

FNPF’s chief operating officer Jaoji Koroi said they already had potential tenants they were currently liaising  with.

He said this included supermarkets and some big retailers.

The building will also have food courts.

“The project involved the redevelopment of the existing Nadi retail property and the old Nadi Hotel site into a commercial/retail development,” Mr Koroi said.

“Nadi Hotel will no longer exist but it will become commercial retail business with a lot of tenants and including FNPF office.

“We will see a lot of activities happening there. It was halted for a while, but now we have been given a full go ahead to complete the project,” he added.

He said the FNPF building in Namaka will remain as is.

The project was a part of FNPF’s investment rehabilitation programme, which has also seen the redevelopment of a number of other properties belonging to FNPF.

Plans for the building had begun earlier in 2015.
