The Government has been relentless in making education accessible and its demand cannot be denied, says the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

The PM said these words at the opening of four new classrooms as the Holy Family Primary School in Labasa.

More than 500 people gathered at the school hall on Thursday night to witness the commissioning of the $79,000 programme.

Mr Bainimarama said: “I reiterate the drive that my Government has for the education of the children in this country. It is the generating force behind the success of any nation.

“It transforms lives and transforms destinies thus my Government has been pleased to deliver excellence in educational achievement resulting from the key acquisition of key principles of equality of fairness and accessibility.

“The Government has been relentless in investing in education as we believe that an educated Fijian society is the way forward for our country,” he said.

Mr Bainimarama said they had ensured to implement and nurture important attributes to the education system to make worthwhile outcomes, upgrades, higher benchmarks through better performance, better infrastructure and heightened parental involvement.

“The demand for education cannot be denied and to meet the growing population of the schools we have today established the provision of four more classrooms.”

He said that they were ensuring that children of Fiji received quality education so change, peace and progress could be achieved.

A Member of the Holy Family School Board Sam Saukilagi applauded the Prime Minister for their commitment and encouragement towards the students and education in the country.

The school has 362 students and 16 teachers.
