Suva defeated Nadi 2-0 in the second round of the 2017 Vodafone Premier League at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

Setareki Hughes scored the first goal before halftime and Sahil Dave sealed the deal in the 74th minute.

Suva coach Shivam Nathan was impressed with the performance.

“It was good news for us, we prepared well and a game plan which produced a good result,” he said.

Despite the win, the capital city boys need to work on their fitness.

“The boys will be more confident when they are match fit.

“We need to work on a lot of areas during training before our next match.”

Nadi Football technical director Arif Khan said they fielded new players.

“We controlled play but most of our players are new,” Khan said.
