New Water Systems For Kubulau Commissioned

More than 400 people from three villages within the tikina of Kubulau in Bua now enjoy safe and clean drinking water in their homes after the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama commissioned their Water Borehole Systems yesterday.
“One of the priority areas of Government is to try and provide every Fijian the opportunity to have clean, safe drinking water and I am pleased that today, the commissioning of three water borehole systems are testaments of this,” Mr Bainimarama said while officiating at Namalata Village yesterday.
“A water borehole is an excellent way to access pure and natural underground water.
“So, ladies and gentlemen, just as some of us are drinking bottled water which is pure and rich in minerals, so will the three villages of Kiobo, Raviravi and Namalata, not only have easy access to water available around the clock, you will also enjoy the enriching health benefits of your water from this new Water Borehole system.”
He added that three projects costs was $175,000.
“These developments signify Government’s continued efforts that all Fijians would be able to have clean safe drinking water,” Mr Bainimarama said.
The mata-ni-tikina Kubulau, Sailosi Rakanace, while thanking the Prime Minister said: “We are thankful, for so long we have been facing this issue and I speak on behalf of the Tui Kubulau and its people on our great appreciation for this.
“Thank you for taking your time out to come and visit us and to listen to our plights. Thank you for all you have done.”
Mr Bainimarama added that there was no better way for him to understand the challenges they faced than to spend time with them in communities all over Fiji.
