This Government continues to prove itself in meeting the needs of the people, says one Cakaudrove chief.

The Tui Wailevu, Ratu Josefa Maivalili, made the comment during the commissioning of the grid extension to Uluivalili College by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama earlier the past week.

Ratu Josefa said the Vanua-ko-Wailevu appreciated all that the Government continues to do for them.

“I have seen that this Government has met our needs and continue to address our plight,” Ratu Josefa said.

“Today, the students of the only secondary school in the Wailevu District have access to electricity, addressing yet again one of the issues which had been considered a great hindrance in the past.”

In his opening speech, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said: “I am honoured to be here to commission this grid extension for the school.

“It is a part of my vision for electrification to be made available to you so you too can enjoy this basic service.

“When we work towards the development of the education sector, we are building a better Fiji. This is because our children are our future.

“I am urging students here in Uluivalili to make use of this opportunity and strive for the best.”

Mr Bainimarama said the $560,000 project would serve the Wailevu West Primary School, Uluivalili College, Nakorovatu Health Centre and nearby homes.

This was an investment for a better Wailevu, he said.
