Samoa A Skipper Wants a Win
Samoa A captain Patrick Fa’apale is confident that they will beat Tonga A in today’s second round of the World Rugby Pacific Challenge at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.
“We have been preparing well and are looking forward to play against Tonga A,” he told SUNsports.
“We are aware that Tonga A is a tough team so we will need to play it wide as well. With that, it needs more work so we worked on our fitness and strength, which comes in handy while defending.”
The Samoans suffered a shocking 34-31 loss to Junior Japan during the first round last Friday.
“I’m hopeful that we will improve our performance in the second match. We will try to play to our best as I’m confident that we will win the game against Tonga A,” he added.

Tongans ready to rumble
Tonga A captain Sione Lolohea said, they are ready to take up the challenge issued by the Samoans.
“We are getting all geared up and excited for the game,” the livewire hooker said.
“We are working on areas that we need to improve on as a team. That is our scrum and line-out. There have been five new players that came in as replacements last week, so we are hoping to improve on our mistakes from the game against the Fijian Warriors. There’s no injury in the team so far and I would like to request all Tongan supporters in Suva to come out in numbers to support us as we play against the Samoans.”
The Tongan side lost 38-30 to the Telecom Fijian Warriors. The clash kicks off at 3pm.
