Sharma Named Junior President
Vikashni Sharma, principal of Jasper Williams High School in Lautoka was elected the Junior President yesterday during the 119th Fiji Principals’ Association Conference at Studio 6 Apartment in Suva.
She also won the Minister’s Excellence Award for Rakiraki Public High School on Wednesday.
Ms Sharma said her appointment came to her as a surprise.
“This is a new additional role that will definitely challenge me as it has been only one year since I became a principal.
“But every challenge teaches us something, to become stronger and wiser. I am also delighted to win the Minister’s Excellence Award last night while I was the principal for Rakiraki Public High School in 2016,” Ms Sharma said.
As an elected leader for the Association, Ms Sharma said she had to prove herself in terms of leadership to decide her term with the organisation.
“In the coming events of the FPA, I will have to work harder to prepare myself while being a principal and also the Junior President of the association.
“Everything is not easy and easy things are not worth it and that is what I will follow to make myself and the association proud of the appointment,” Ms Sharma said.
