R.C Manubhai Helps Suva Methodist Reps
Rugby and netball players of Suva Methodist Primary School had a reason to smile yesterday.
This was after they received new sports uniforms from RC Manubhai for the 2017 Suva Kaji rugby and netball competitions.
The donation was worth $2500 and the team will be called the R.C Manubhai SMPS rugby and netball teams.
Manager corporate sales Central/Eastern/Northern Ashwin Prasad said giving back to the community was an initiative taken by the company to acknowledge customers.
“One of our aims is to give back to the community by assisting schools, old people’s homes and sports.
“Today we embarked on a new venture with SMPS. Maybe this will not be a last and we will see how we will continue to assist the school with other projects,” Prasad said.
He wished the teams the best.
“Maybe in a few years time we will see some of you playing for Fiji,” he said.
SMPS headteacher Keni Turagabeci acknowledged R.C Manubhai for their support.
“The teams have been training well and we also want to thank our parents for their support,” Turagabeci said.
The school is being represented in the Under- 9, U10 and U11 grades. Based in Toorak, the young ruggers will defend the U9 and U10 grades.
Meanwhile, the netters will take part in the Suva Kaji knockout at the National Netball Centre today.
“All our netball teams lost in the finals last year but they have been training everyday with our teachers and parents and they are all looking forward to stepping up in 2017,” he added.
